Max earned a Masters of Arts in Counseling degree from the California Institute of Integral Studies with a specialization in Drama Therapy. His experience includes two years at the Liberation Institute Community Mental Health Center in San Francisco working with individuals, couples, families and adolescents as well as leading expressive arts therapy groups for adults and neurodivergent teens. Max completed a 6 month certificate training in Internal Family Systems and he is an adjunct instructor at the California Institute of Integral Studies. Max’s approach is grounded in existential and depth traditions and training in expressive arts therapy, all of which promote access to curiosity and creativity to contend with life’s inevitable challenges in more meaningful, authentic and constructive ways.
Prior to psychotherapy, Max worked for many years in the arts making him well suited to understand the experience, and challenges, faced by individuals working in creative industries.
